As you all know there has been a bit of talking in the press about me going to join the German hockey league next season and via this way I would like to confirm the rumours. I have made up my mind and I will join MHC (Mannheim Hockey Club) next season. There are a few reasons for my decision and the most important one for me personally is that I get a bit more rest which is important for my ageing body, ha! Apart from that I am looking for new challenges in my hockey and this move fits in with that perfectly. Not only will I be joining the team to play, I will also try to help them with making the next step going forward and making the EHL (Euro Hockey League). I will also assist with the development of the Juniors program by bringing them through the best coaching so MHC can sustain at the top level of German hockey for a long period of time. I am looking forward to this challenge and also on a personal level I am looking forward to working with my old Kookaburras team mate Michael McCann, who is a good friend of mine.

Apart from that I am looking forward to getting into the final stages of the season with Bloemendaal. The competition is very interesting at the moment. Everyone can beat everyone and its going to be very close and interesting to see who will make the top four this year. HGC are safe already and we have to win one more game to make the play-offs but for the 3rd and 4th spot there is about 5 teams competing. I’m curious who will make it and who won’t. We play amsterdam this sunday so that will be an interesting game as they are still fighting for a spot and so are we. 

Sorry I haven’t been blogging much lately but I’m getting a bit lazy. Also now that I have my facebook page, its much easier to give updates through that.
